Ibrahim Kodra’s grave, debate at Foreign Commission

Present in this commission was the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro. The Socialist Party MP, Ben Blushi, asked the Minsiter to answer why she didn’t discuss this decision with the Ishem residents.

Kumbaro said they had communicated with the residents for three weeks. The exhumation of the remains of painter Ibrahim Kodra has caused debate among the Ishem residents and the Minister of Culture.

The residents are against the Ministry’s decision to place the remains to a monumental grave at the Tirana Artificial Lake, a request made by the Ibrahim Kodra foundation.
