The President of Kosovo, Jatifete Jahjaga, asked the government to see
the possibility of accepting 3000 Syrian refugees in their territory.
Although the government has not responded, citizens have given a
positive answer.
Many Kosovo citizens remember the day when they were forced to leave their homes and seek refuge in other country. “I am a refugee” is a common expression written these days on Facebook and Twitter.
The only official who has spoken about this issue is the Parliament Speaker, Kadri Veseli, who showed solidarity.
The Presheva Valley, the Serbian territory with an Albanian majority, at the eastern border of Kosovo, has received 6000 Syrian refugees. But many of them might have been trafficked by people who use these situations for money.
Top Channel has learned from the Gjilan Commune that traffickers have moved dozens of refugees through the Kosovo territory, who have found shelter among the Albanian families until they returned on their trip.
