Hunger strikers’ health conditions deteriorated

22 men and women who are following the fifth day of the hunger strike appealed the government to fulfill their demands in order to stop the strike.
“Our purpose is to achieve our goal, because we wandered in the streets and no one noticed us. We cannot live without the help that we are asking”, declared a striker.
The health conditions of the tetra and paraplegics have deteriorated. Women are facing worse conditions and their presence in the strike is being more difficult.
“I appeal to the government to see these unfortunate people, to see our problems so that this strike ends as soon as possible”, one of the women said.
Tetra and paraplegics remain determined to continue the strike until the fulfillment of their demands, which regard the hygienic package and a higher payment for their caretakers. The Ministry of Labor declared the numbers of the benefits that the tetra and paraplegic have profited until today, asking them to stop the strike.
“We have understood their demands and have been attentive, but we ask them to sit on dialogue tables and avoid similar extreme behavior”, the Ministry Spokesperson declared.
The last strike of the tetra and paraplegics took place on 2008.
