The miners’ hunger strike has entered the 8th day and their situation is deteriorating. They are continuing their protest in a bar near the ACR premises and announced that this Tuesday there will be a meeting.

The head of the Miners’ Syndication, Taf Koleci, repeated the miners’ demand for the removal of the Bulqize Mine Director, Medat Zogu, who, according to Koleci, had violated law.

Mine director: Miners request, offending

The Director of the Bulqize Mine, Medat Zogu, declared for Top-Channel’s program “Shqip” that behind the syndication actions are hidden personal interests.

He considered the miners’ request for his dismissal as shameful and offending.

“The strike has no motivation, because the miners have a collective agreement with the Syndication. However, ACR took in consideration the miners’ demands, but unfortunately, the syndication continued bringing up other demands”, Zogu declared.

“Behind the Syndication are hidden personal interests. The demand for my dismissal is offending, and I am an employee of the Company, I have a contract to respect. I don’t think that I have made injustices to the miners, because I have had good relations with them. I have been working with them for 30 years”, Zogu declared.

But the head of the Syndication, Kol Nikolla underlined that Zogu has mismanaged of the mine.

“He has been mismanaging the mine for 11 months. He has mismanaged the contractual relations of the employees with the ACR Company”, Nikolla emphasized, underlining that the strike will continue and that there are only six demands, not 12, as the Mine Director pretends.
