Hungary donates 100,000 masks and 5,000 protective medical suits to Albania

The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, received today the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, at a meeting in Tirana, held under strict security measures, due to the situation created by Covid-19 epidemic.

To help Albania in the fight against COVID-19, Hungary provided 100,000 masks and 5,000 medical protective suits, in order to strengthen the capacity of the country’s health system.

After expressing his gratitude to the Hungarian counterpart for his unsparing support, Cakaj stated with conviction that as result of the close cooperation and broad solidarity, this war will only have as an epilogue the final victory over COVID-19.

Moreover, the counterparts during the meeting shared the conviction that the EU decision to open negotiations with Albania, although delayed, was appropriate, as it is important not only to deepen internal reforms, but also to increase the credibility of European Union in the region.
