Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The residents of Sauk, one of the neighborhoods where the Outer Tirana
Road Ring will pass across, complain that the project has changed
several times, according to some individuals’ interest.
It has also happened that after destroying the houses, the inspectors have apologized and said that the house should have not been destroyed.
The demolition operation in the axis where the Outer Road Ring will pass has finished one month ago. Now the residents are asked to demolish their houses by themselves, since the project has changed. The residents whose houses were demolished 6 weeks ago have not been paid yet by the state. In stead of the money, the residents have been asked to sign a declaration that they agree with the government for their house evaluation. All families have refused the evaluation made for their destroyed houses, since the government has prices one square meter land with 2600 ALL.
Residents: Compensation is too low
While the bulldozers will demolish 45 objects that have been built in full according the rules, the owners of these houses say that they have not been compensated by the state and their property was valued with a very low price. They say for “Shqip” newspaper that the state compensation is very low and far from the real market value.
The chief of the Urban Construction Inspectorate, Adem Dollapi, notified the owners that they will receive the payment, as the law requires.
“We have notified the owners that their properties have been evaluated and the money has been released, but they haven’t withdrawn the money, because they have not signed the documents. When they will show the property certification and a bank account number, the Directory of Roads will transfer the money”, he declared.
The demolition of the Sauk buildings is finishing the first phase that started on 10 August, with the demolition of 29 houses near the Artificial Lake, an area that makes the first lot of the Outer Ring.
