The pregnant wife of Kavaja Mayor, Griselda Roshi, was kidnapped
yesterday afternoon around 19:15 at the “Komuna e Parisit” area in
Tirana, forced to give birth and her child was taken.
Family sources say that after having a coffee with a friend of hers, Griselda Roshi had taken a taxi to go at her parents’ house.
She had come in Tirana because she expected to give birth this Friday. According to family members, when she was walking toward the taxi, a SUV with dark windows has stopped and three armed men have forced her into the car.
After beating and threatening her, they have transported the Mayor’s wife in an unknown location, which was prepared for her arrival. In this place there were other people besides the three men, including women.
Family sources say that at that place Griselda has been beaten with gun barrels until losing consciousness. After waking up, she remembers serum being injected in her body, and after a while she has given birth to her child.
The kidnappers have changed Griselda’s bloody clothes and around 3:45 am they have transported her again with the dark windowed SUV, throwing her off the car about 50 meters from her home in Kavaja.
Beaten and injured, Griselda has crawled to the door of her house, without her newborn child who has remained at the location where Griselda was taken hostage and was violated for more than 6 hours.
Now she is in grave psychological conditions, unable to identify the kidnappers, the place where she was obliged to give birth, or the location of her newborn baby.
“I don’t know what to say. There is no criminal in the world that could do this. She is in a horrible state”, says a neighbor.
“They shouldn’t have done this. They are good people, didn’t deserve this”, another one declared.
Police Special Forces are currently at the house of the victim, making the necessary investigations. Griselda’s husband, Kavaja’s new Mayor Elvis Roshi returned from Italy after hearing the tragic news.
The State Police and Prosecution of Serious Crimes have established a special group for investigating the event. The group is headed by Prosecutor Henrik Ligori and many Criminal Police special agents.
Many relatives and Kavaja citizens gathered in front of the Roshi house, extremely shocked by the unheard news.
