Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian Parliament organized a homage session for commemorating the
Albanian saint, Mother Teresa. The ceremony was held on the 15th
anniversary of death of this important figure not only of the Albanian
nation, but of many other countries in the world, because of her never
ceasing contribution to help the sick and poor people.
The session held in presence of MPs and other guests and religious leaders started with a speech by the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, who valued Mother Tereza’s figure as an important personality of our country that will return to the center of the attention together with other important figures on the 100th year of independence. “She’s the mother of the entire world”, the Parliament Speaker declared.
By valuing Mother Tereza as the symbol of moral and human love and that never denied her Albanian origin, the Albanian Parliament Speaker elected the Mother Tereza Order as the first to receive as gift a special publishing of the Albanian Parliament.
This is a special publishiing made of 200 unique copies that contain the foundation acts of the Albanian state from 1912-1922. The official logo of the 100th year of independence was handmade and carved in a 18 carat pure gold. Topalli will send this special edition to 200 famous personalities of the Albanian nation for the 100th anniversary of independence.
Berisha underlined that Mother Teresa honored the name of the Albanians in a time when the dictatorial regime was giving a disfigured image of Albania throughout the world.
“Let’s thank Mother Tereza from our hearts. She gave us honor when we did nto have it, when the entire world was receiving the most disfigured news from Albania, because of a barbarian regime that hysterically destroyed churches, mosques and saint temples. Thank you for not denying your origin”, Berisha declared. The commemoration of Mother Tereza is made for the organizations of the 100th anniversary of Albania’s independence.
