Honor Consuls in Tirana

40 honor consuls of Albania throughout the world joined the celebrations
of the Independence Day. First they were received by the Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edmond Haxhinasto, in which
was also present the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Aldo Bumci.

Minister Haxhinasto valued the consuls’ role by calling them as integrating part of the Albanian Diplomatic Body.

“Our main objective is a great care for the community and the Diaspora. Their integration in the foreign societies is another major objective. We also desire to keep lit up the love of these communities and Diaspora for the motherland. A big challenge of ours is to help the new state of Kosovo to be internationally recognized, as a great factor of peace and stability in Balkan. Therefore, I am sure that you will commit and help us with this major objective”, Haxhinasto declared.

The consuls of honor also had a meeting with the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, who dedicated her speech to Albania’s changes and the need to further promote our country in the world.

“I see the meeting with the consuls throughout the world as very special. As the biggest men of the world have said, freedom works even in Albania and Kosovo, and each day shows that it works excellently. We are aware that freedom should be accompanied with the sense of responsibility. Naturally, everything that happens in my country and our nations needs advocates throughout the world. I know some of you, have met you in different countries. I know about your marvelous work, commitment and promotion of Albania, in advocating for Albania and the Albanians”, Topalli declared.
