
The long processional of people started the march from the headquarters
of the Socialist Party. In front were the photos of the four victims of
the January 21st tragedy: Ziver Veizi, Faik Myrtaj, Aleks Nika and
Hekuran Deda.
The processional marched slowly at the Deshmoret e Kombit Boulevard.
The people from the Socialist Party wore an identifying ribbon and observed the people while being among them. The Police was only around the Prime Minister’s Office.
Flowers and tears from the family members, in memory of the four victims, on the spots where they were killed on January 21st. No speeches, only marching people.
Then the crowd left the Deshmoret e Kombit Boulevard slowly, and concluded this ceremony without any tension.
After the ceremony, the relatives of the victims, Socialist Party leaders and common citizens headed to the Academy of Arts, where they held a memorial ceremony titled “Justice for January 21st”.
During this activity, the four victims of January 21st were honored with the titles “Citizen of Honor” from the communes and respective districts where they lived.
One year ago, three opposition unarmed protesters died on the spot in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, while the fourth died some days later in hospital.
Berisha accused the opposition leader, the Albanian President and the Prosecutor General as part of a coup. Even toady, one year after, the case has not been closed and the investigations are expected to take another turn after the arrival of the FBI ballistic tests.
One day before these homage ceremony, Edi Rama declared for Top Channel that this case should be solved as soon as possible. Rama declared that the ones who ordered the kills should be brought to justice.
