Albania hides wonderful places that are worth visiting and promoting, such as the Holta Canyons in Gramsh in central Albania, that have lately become a destination for tourists.
It seems that more foreigners are interested in discovering the Albanian natural beauties.
“I am a tour guide, we come from the Netherlands, and these are my clients. It’s probably the 7th time I’ve visited this place in 1 and a half months. There is a lot of interest. I think the more people post pictures online, the more others show interest. When you see this canyon, it’s fantastic, it’s one of the hidden beauties that hasn’t been fully discovered yet. It is very nice not to have hundreds of people around, while other river areas are very crowded. This is one of the most beautiful places that can be visited, and it is near the capital Tirana, only an hour and a half and a very beautiful trip”, said a tourist.
“We are from the Netherlands. It is our first time in Albania. The staf at the hotel we are staying recommended us about this beautiful place. The water is not too cold and it is very good. We have visited other canyons where you can’t walk from the cold water”, said another tourist.
“I had read about this place online. I was looking for a place to visit close to Tirana and I saw this canyon. Very beautiful”, said a tourist for Top Channel.
Officials say that it is not recommended, even dangerous, to visit the canyons in bad weather, or when it is raining in the mountains. But over the years, the Municipality of Gramshi has taken care of the warning signs, but also here there are employees who take care of the safety of the tourists who visit, not only the canyon but also the castle that is located on the top of the mountain.
