Hit-and-run driver who killed mother in front of her son left in prison until trial

The Court of Tirana ruled to lieave in prison until trial Andrea
Memollari, the 20-year-old who hit a 45-year-old woman and her son with
his car, stopped and then accelerated again to leave the scene by
fatally running her over.

The macabre scene was caught on camera and the 20-year-old is now charged with hit-and-run. He declared with remorse that he panicked at the moment and tried to leave the scene.

Memollari had been sentenced before with community work for violating speed limits and trying to bribe officers.
