Himara, anti-Albanian banners

The Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PJIU) considered the anti-Albanian banners written in Greek on Himara’s streets as a provocation with political motives.

This party demands a strong reaction by the Albanian state institutions, appealing the General Prosecution to bring the authors to justice.

“These provocations on the verge of May 8th elections do nothing more than increasing nationalist tensions for the politic gain of some specific individuals. Himara and its citizens cannot feel hate against anyone. Himara, with its high intellectual standards, has been transformed for years into an experimental terrain, directed by Vasil Bollano, through individuals who are paid to provoke the Albanian’s feelings”, said Ardian Tana, political secretary of this party, on a press release.

“The banners that were written in the middle of the night are not the first provocation that is being made to this country. This is why we strongly request a reaction from our state institutions, starting from the General Prosecution, for bringing to justice the authors of these acts that provoke hate and violence against Albanians”, he declared.

“Himara, this brave Albanian land, an important center of our national history, doesn’t hate anyone. We appeal Himara political forces to distance themselves and respond to these provocations. We appeal the two greater political forces in Albania to support a single common candidate in Himara. It is never too late to restore the national dignity. It is the moment to lower the political banners and to raise the national flag”, Tana said.
