Higher education draft law, government: “New vision for university”. DP opposes

The Special Parliamentary session on the higher education law started
with the Minister of Education and Sport, Lindita Nikolla, who listed a
series violations found when she started leading the institution.

Nikolla said that the majority and the opposition have the opportunity to approve the draft law with consensus. According to her, the draft handed over at the Parliament is a product of a long and all-inclusive process.

“It is one of the only reforms where the majority and the opposition have not intervened with the commission”, Nikolla declared.

But the draft law has been opposed by a group of teachers and students, who, according to Minister Nikolla, are blackmailing the Parliament without a reason.

“A small group cannot blackmail us. If the law will not pass today, it is the end of the higher education. Dear professors, it cannot turn worse than you have done it so far”, Nikolla declared.
