Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared that the government has protected
all family budgets by not allowing the increased energy price in the
last three years.
“There has been absolutely no energy increase in the last three years”, Berisha declared.
Formally, the energy price for families has not increased since 2010, remaining at the 7.7 ALL level for the first consumption phase of 300 KWh and 13.2 ALL for consumption. But consumers have still paid more through overcharged bills and a hidden way that the Prime Minister himself mentioned.
“We have used money from the budget to cover every obligation, so that the price for citizens would not increase”, Berisha declared.
The government does not produce money. The budget is money from the citizens, collected from their taxes. Every loan taken by Albanian Energy Corporation (KESH) is paid by the citizens, and last year the government paid KESH with money from the Contingency Fund and gave a guarantee for 7 billion others, so that the corporate could receive loans from private banks.
