The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets will start an
administrative investigation for private interest declarations of high
rank officials since 2003, starting with the President, the Parliament
Speaker, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers,
Deputy Ministers and other important officials.
The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets says that no high-rank official has been inspected since 2006 if he has profited from public funds or not. High-rank officials have been left outside the scheme intentionally during this year, as verifications have shown.
The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets says that the decision for administrative investigation was taken based on the difficult situation of the case administrations, and the suspicions for disappeared cases of various officials.
The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets has verified the disappearance of a register where corruption cases had been reported for years from the citizens, the media and the civil society. There has been an intentional blockage of the electronic address or the free number for referring these cases.
Other people that will be audited are the members of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Supreme State Audit, the Prosecutor General, the Ombudsman, the Chairman abnd members of the Central Election Commission, the vice chairman and members of the High Council of Justice, the Governor of Bank of Albania, etc.
Other institution leaders that will be audited are the Director of the Secret Service, the General Chief of Police, the General Prison Director, the General Director of the Central Office of Real Estate Registration, and the General Director of Customs, the General Director of the Tax Office, Judges and Prosecutors of all levels.
The results of this audit will be public case after case until December 31st, 2014. The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets will start working for planning the electronic registration and for conflicts of interests. This register should have been planned since 2006.
