Albanian archeology authorities have announced today the discovery of a historical cemetery of the Hellenistic and medieval period in Shënmri, near the capital Tirana.
The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama through a post on the social network, where he shared the images and wrote that the discovery adds extraordinary value to the cultural heritage of the capital.
Among other things, the head of the government says that this discovery marks for the first time the findings of Arber culture in the area of Tirana.
“An extraordinary archaeological discovery has come to light in Shënmri of Tirana, where archaeologists discovered a historical cemetery of the Hellenistic and medieval period.
“This discovery, evidence of the history and life of the ancient inhabitants of this area, marks for the first time the findings of the Arbri culture in the area of Tirana, adding extraordinary values to the cultural heritage of the capital, but at the same time to the historical and cultural tourism of the country “, adds Rama in the comment.
