Although the epidemic situation season seems calm for this summer, the
authorities appeal the citizens to be careful on what they chose, and
they also appeal the sanitation inspectorates to not stop the controls
in bars and restaurants, especially in overpopulated tourist areas.
The director of policies in the Health Ministry, Pellumb Pipero reminds the case of 200 poisoned people after a wedding in Shkoder.
“The holiday makers, especially in Southern Albania’s overpopulated areas, should be extremely cautious with the food”, Pipero says.
The high-rank official says that there is a slight increase of 3% for the cases with gastro-intestinal diseases, compared to the same period of last year.
“Although the epidemiologic situation seems quiet, the only problem have been the diarrheic bloodless diseases, whose trend has increased”, Pipero declared.
Only during last week there have been 3325 cases with diarrhea and 5125 respiratory infections in the entire country.
