HCJ reacts against protest of Tirana Municipality

The High Council of Justice said that the protest organized by the
Municipality of Tirana in front of the Court of Administrative Appeal
are premediated acts that cause unrecoverable destabilization for the
justice system, since any part that doesn’t see a verdict as fair, could
oppose it with protests and political pressures.

The reaction says that the Mayor of Tirana and other political exponents used humiliating terms against the courts which have been providing justice for years, with the only purpose to interfere with he activity of the justice system, which could bring only demotivation and submission of the justice system.

The HCJ says that these protests has blocked for several hours the activity of the Court of Administrative Appeal, and this influences unfairly with the image of the court, reduces the public’s trust to the justice system.

The HCJ asked judges to continue their activity and focus their work on the respecting of fair trials.
