Haxhinasto, declared in Skopje that Tirana stands to the request for
investigating all ethnic related incidents, including the beating of the
Albanian students in Skopje by ethnic Macedonian groups.
“Our stance is very clear. We have asked a full investigation of these events, and we have asked the law enforcing institutions to put the responsible people to justice. We have also asked all political representatives to show maturity, calmness and support for the law enforcing institutions”, Haxhinasto declared, after a meeting with the Macedonian homologue, Nikolla Poposki, according to EJL.
The Head of the Albanian Diplomacy was asked about the burning of the Macedonian flag in Burrel, Albania. Haxhinasto condemned this act and also that of the burning of the Albanian flag.
“I have also seen incidents in which the Albanian flag was burned. Such incidents should not dare to take place, because the national symbols are holy to every nation and citizen. For this, today we stated that these incidents do not affect our excellent relations. I will repeat once again that it is very important for the institutions to act in full accordance with the law”, Haxhinasto declared.
During his visit in Macedonia, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Albania, Edmond Haxhinasto, was invited by other high rank citizens, while he will meet representatives of the Albanian political parties.
