French newspaper “Le Figaro” quoted a declaration of the French
Prosecution General, and said that the Court of Appeal in Colmar,
France, decided this Thursday to keep the former Kosovo PM, Ramush
Haradinaj, under police custody until Serbia makes a formal request for
extradition, after accusing him of war crimes.
Haradinaj was arrested yesterday at the Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport by the border police, a few moments after landing from Prishtina.
Kosovo declared that this arrest was illegal, while they asked the European Union to pressure Serbia to withdraw old arrest orders against former KLA fighters.
According to Prishtina, there are still 20 international arrest orders issued by Serbia against Kosovo citizens, mainly former KLA fighters.
