Halimi: Harsher punishments for crime

The Justice Minister, Eduard Halimi, presented the new package of
measures that aim to make harsher punishments for a series of crimes.
Halimi declared that no one should escape justice and that the punishments should be definitive.
“The package of 41 articles amends the serious crimes such as the murder of a law enforcer, murder for blood feuds, domestic crimes and illegal arm possession”, Halimi declared.
The head of the Albanian Justice declared that the package will pass to Parliament and the majority will vote it as soon as possible.
“Whoever kills a law enforcer should not be sentenced to less than 38 years in prison, without bail. Whoever kills a law enforcer should stay in prison for life. The punishment will increase from 25 to 38 years in prison, also for blood feuds”, Halimi underlined.
