Hahn: “It’s a catastrophe to be left without competent judges. Add magistrate students”

The EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, in a meeting with the Albanian government, spoke about the progress made by our country with the EU Integration.

Hahn said that the Ministers should work with seriousness to convince everyone else about Albania’s progress.

“I am happy that we are in a table with all ministers. You must keep in mind that this is an undertaking in which Albania and the EU are partners. Both parties have invested to take the country ahead. Until the next year, the work should be done with such progress, that all skeptics can be convinced about Albania’s progress”, Hahn said.

The European Commission spoke once again about a very current matter in Albania, that of having more magistrate students. But the draft-law has faced a stalemate since it needs more than 2/3rd of the votes to pass.

“Today I learned that even for increasing the number of the magistrate school you need to decide with 2/3rds. This is not normal, because Albania needs more prosecutors and judges in the system”, Hahn said.
