The Serbian Ultranationalist, Vojslav Sesel, was acquitted from all
accusations for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Balkan during
the wars of the 90s.
The Hague Court of Serious Crimes says he held no individual responsibility for all accusations. Sesel denied all accusations.
In 2014, the Court allowed him to go to Belgrade where he was diagnosed with cancer. The 61-year-old was not present at the court and refused the court’s request to follow the trial through a video link.
Sesel was part of anti-government protests during the Serbian Parliamentary elections. He used to be the right hand of former President Slobodan Milosevic, and Prime Minister of Serbia from 1998 to 2000.
He handed himself over at the Court Hague in 2003. He went on hunger strike when the Court appointed a defendant against his will.
Last week, the Serbian-Bosnian former leader, Radovan Karadjic, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for genocide and war crimes.
