The Italian-Albanian archeologic mission in Hadrianopolis and Drinos Valley, started in 2010, is now complete.
“This year we realized a geophysical study in Antigonea, which lets us create new elements next year for increasing the tourist impact”, said prof.Dhimiter Condi, co-director of the mission.
Besides protecting and reevaluating the area, the mission also programmed and organized the new tourist guide for Hadrianopolis and Gjirokaster. They also placed information panels.
“Different from other missions, with this we can cooperate with the locals to use the archeologic site for tourism and economic development. This is a multi-dimensional mission that operates not only with excavations, but also academically”, said Teodor Bilushi, Italian Consul of Honor in Gjirokaster.
This project is the first step for the internationalization of school materials in the Gjirokaster University, directly related to the European programs for integration of study, research and employment procedures.
