Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Albania and Macedonia confirmed their close cooperation for joint operations between the two countries and their foreign policy.
Berisha and Gruevski believe that they are doing the best to fulfil their obligations to the citizens for accelerating the EU integration project.
Since 2009, despite the recommendation of the European Commission, Macedonia has been unable to progress due to the veto of Greece, while Albania has not been able to progress since 2009, due to internal political problems.
Gruevski declared that it is up to Greece to implement the International Court and give up the veto.
“It’s not a matter if there will be concessions, but if there is good will to discuss the international right and to find a solution that is accepted by both peoples as soon as possible”, Gruevski declared.
Berisha underlined that Albania’s blockage comes only from the opposition leader, Edi Rama.
“In Skopje’s acse, we’re dealing with an external blockage. With us there is an internal blockage. If there will be an international commitment to help both countries to find a solution, yesterday in the European Parliament, the Foreign Commission voted for the recommendation of this main institution of the European Union for the EU candidate status of Albania. I would want Mr. Rama to read this vote. I guarantee the Albanians that if Fier would stay as a problem, the resolution would have several articles for Fier. Not because Mr. Rama hasn’t addressed the problem to all instances, but because he has received as answer that there is no connection between Fier and the voting of the three laws that Rama is blocking in Parliament, The fact that the motion is unaccepted shows that they are happy that they fulfilled their mission”, Berisha declared.
