The Macedonian Prime Minister, Nikolla Gruevski, held a meeting with the
residents of the Trebisht commune, 4 kilometers from the Macedonian
border.

Gruevski was received with a warm and festive welcome. He expressed his interest for the progress of the Macedonian language in this area, mainly in the elementary schools, and then held a closed door meeting with a representation group of the Golloborda area. Present from the Albanian part was the Prefect of Diber District, Genc Sharku.

“Dear Macedonian people, now the road is open, and the distance is shorter, fulfilling this way a promise given to this community that speaks the same language and that has the same traditions”, Gruevski declared for the local residents.

According to Gruevski, the Republic of Macedonia will invest more for the community of this area, especially for education and a further deepening of the cultural relations.

He said that soon will be held in Skopje a meeting with the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, with whom he will talk about the problems that concern the community of this area and for consolidating the cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
