The President of Greece, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, spoke again about national messages, sending messages to Albania as well.
“We said that we want a better future for Albania and Greece has stood by them, even during summer when we helped taking out real wild fires. But this doesn’t mean that this friendship will be only from one side. Unfortunately, Albania’s current leadership is giving examples that don’t go well for a member of the international community, let alone of an EU candidate”, Pavlopoulos declared.
Despite the softer tones from the Foreign Minister, Pavlopoulos continued with his harsh rhetoric against Albania, adding that the rights of the Greek minority must be respected.
“As a responsible country in Balkan, Athens cannot stay with its arms crossed as Tirana undermines its own European perspective”, Greek President continued.
