The issue of the Saint Mary of Bazaar church premises in Permet, which
have returned to the court, have brought the general consul of Greece in
Gjirokaster to attend a meeting with the Mayor of Permet, Gilbert Jace.
The meeting was requested by the Greek Consil, Nicholaos Kotrokoi, and it was held in the premises of the Permet municipality.
“The Autocephalous church of Albania is not dependent from anyone and its decisions should be respected. The way, the time and the place of intervention in the Culture Palace is not appropriate”, said the Greek consul during this meeting.
The Mayor of Permet, Gilberto Jace, told the Gjirokaster consul that the violence of the clergymen against the bailiffs was unacceptable. According to the Mayor, the issue can be resolved only through dialogue between the parties.
