The Greek government reacted after the declarations of the FYROM
President, Gjorgje Ivanov, who asked the international community to
remove the obstacles that his country has for the EU and Euro-Atlantic
perspective.
The Spokesperson of the Greek Foreign Ministry, Kostandinos Kutras, appealed the FYROM leadership that they should not blame others for the blockage of the Euro-Atlantic perspective.
Kutras said that the return of tensions in FYROM proves what Athens has reiterated, that FYROM has serious problems with the rule of law, the implementation of human rights, the implementation of the Ochrid agreement, the respecting of good neighboring relations and the lack of democracy.
On the same tome, he appealed the leadership in Skopje to focus on curing these issues by showing consensus.
Referring to the bloody conflict in Kumanova, the Greek Foreign Ministry Spokesperson expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished that the incident was an isolated phenomenon, and that self-restraint, logic and dialogue prevails.
