The government’s toll fee for the Durres-Kukes road is four times higher than the price recommended by the consultant company.
Top Channel has published the confidential report of the Egnatia Odhos company, which was hired by the Albanian government to built a strategy for the toll fees in Albania.
The report was handed over to the Ministry of Transportation on August 2015, and it says that the maximal that Albanian families can pay is 3.5 EUR per 100 km, and this is the highest possible price. The optimal price recommended by the consultant is 1 to 2.5 EUR for 100 km.
The government has decided that the concession will not even include the entire Durres-Kukes road. The Kastrati and Salillari companies will maintain only the Miloti-Morina segment and the rest will be maintained by the budget. The Milot-Morina segment is 118 km long and citizens will pay 5 Euros for every passage.
