The stance of the National Guard is not the first one held by the Rama
government regarding famous court cases related to the former
government. The same stance was held by both, the Rama and Berisha
government, even regarding the Gerdeci case.
A document signed by the Deputy Minister of Defense, one year ago, describes the Gerdec tragedy as caused by a technological accident during the dismantling of the ammunition. Although the First Instance of the Administrative Court decided to compensate the relatives of Hysen Cani even through the budget of the Defense Ministry, the latter has requested for this decision to be rejected, arguing that the damage was caused by Albademil and Sac.
Same as with the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense says a decision of the Berisha government has already compensated the families. Which means that they were treated once with financial assistance.
The Ministry of Defense says there is no document showing that they are implicated in any of the agreements that the Court has found as part of the guilt. Although it has been mentioned politically about the way how the dismantling agreements were signed, the Ministry of Defense insists that they sold the ammunition to “Sac” which then created Albademil.
