One day after Top Channel announced that the government was preparing to accelerate procedures for the Vlora Airport, the Council of Ministers approved the draft law.
The law authorizes the Ministry of Finances and the Ministry of Infrastructure to negotiate the bid of Turkish Companies for building the airport.
“It all started with a very important process four years ago, liberating the airspace from monopoly. This increased the interest of foreign companies to invest in a second airport, more modern and bigger than Rinas”, said the Minister of Infrastructure, Damian Gjiknuri.
The Vlora airport will cost 100 million EUR and it will be built with the money of private companies. According to the government, the construction will start this year.
