A report of the Ministry of Justice, filed at the Albanian Parliament,
informs the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, that 72 prosecutors
have been identified of having violated the regulations, almost one
third of the total.

The highest number of violations was noted at the First Degree of Serious Crimes for 15 of them. According to the report, all prosecutors at the Durres Appeal Court have violated the law, while in Tirana, only the General Prosecutor.

The inspection notes that the inspections have been made on 76 cases that have ended with suspension of the case. The Ministry inspectors declared that the law has been violated for 27 of them.

The report identifies legal violations in 29 cases, 26 legal obligation violations, 17 legal obligation violations for starting a case and 11 violations of the investigation deadlines and preliminary investigations.

The harshest accusations are those for giving shorter sentences than deserved, and reducing them beyond the minimum set by law.
