Gorica bridge towards destruction

The Gorica Bridge, a cultural monument of unique historical values, is
still blocked in Berat. Besides its values, the bridge connects the
museum neoghborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica.
The bridge was isolated because it was damaged by heavy vehicles that were degrading its elements, from the basement to the arches.
“We had a project for the ring road by avoiding the Gorica Bridge with a bypass, but there were no funds from the government. We were obliged to keep it isolated. We cannot damage the cultural monuments and the government must turn its eyes to this town that is considered a world heritage”, declared the Mayor of Berat, Fadil Nasufi.
Not only this bridge, but other cultural objects in Berat are seeking fir immediate help, being on the brink of destruction.
