The Court of Elbasan rejected the Prosecution’s request for suspending
the Court of Appeal Judge, Gjin Gjoni, until the Prosecution completes
the investigation.
The decision was published short and without any explanatory argument, which are expected during this week. The Judge has been charged of false declaration of assets and document falsification.
The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets started an administrative investigation for reconfirming data presented by Gjoni at the National Center of Registration. This institution filed a report this Wednesday against Gjoni for falsifying documents.
The Durres Court rejected the Prosecution’s request for suspending Judge Klorinda Cela, who is under investigation for hiding their assets. Her husband, Ken Dhima, current Judge at the Vlore Administration Court, has been suspended by the same court for three months.
The Ministry of Judges requested at the High Council of Justice disciplinary measures against the two spouses, after the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets reported a false declaration of assets.
