The memorial of Cerciz Topulli, placed at the square with the same title
in the museum of Gjirokaster, and his grave that can be found at the
Renaissance Hill, represnt a Gjirokaster with forgotten symbols that
have not been restored for years.
The same degraded image is offered by all other symbols of the Independence, the Renaissance and Liberation from the Nazi occupation. These symbols seem to represent a time that cannot be remembered.
The two institutions that are responsible by law, the Municipality and the Directory of Cultural monuments, blame each other.
The Red and Black Fans repaired the graves of the Renaissance heroes some months ago, but they are destroyed again and no one has reacted about this.
