The case reported by the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of
Assets, which claims that the Judge and member of the High Council of
Justice, Gjin Gjoni, has hidden assets and falsified documents, will not
be investigated in Tirana.

One source said for Top Channel that the Court of Appeal Judge, Gjin Gjoni, will be investigated by the Elbasan Prosecution, as the closes Prosecution to the capital, due to the complexity of the case. The case was transferred to Elbasan for avoiding any possible conflict that might come as result of Gjoni’s personal relations with the Prosecutors of the capital, since he has worked longer as Judge of the First Instance in Tirana.

The information for delegating the case was confirmed by the Adviser of the Prosecutor General, Albi Serjani.

The report of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets says that the judge has hidden 1.8 million of assets in cooperation with two notaries. Two other judges reported two weeks ago by the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets, the spouses Ken Dhima and Klorinda Cela, are also reported of hiding assets. The report has been filed at the Durres Prosecution since it is the closest Prosecution to Tirana.

The Minister of Justice asked the couple to start a disciplinary procedure for discharging them. The request will be included in the daily agenda by the High Council of Justice, while Gjin Gjoni has no such request from the Ministry of Justice.
