“I ligu per mend”, written by Gjergj Fishta, was brought to the National Theater by Director Altin Basha, through the Kosovo National Theater Troop.
Fishta has made a dramatic adaption of Moliere’s play to Shkodra of 1920. It has an exotic processed play, but with difficulty to understand the dialect.
“The dialect difficulty seemed acceptable at first, but it actually requires a strong commitment”, says Director Altin Basha.
This Albanian screenplay, brought to our theaters by Prishtina, raises once again the question why there are no Albanian drama plays in our theaters?
“This is a debate among the people who value their culture, and those who have it as a phobia. There is snobbism, professional inferiority, thinking that the Albanian drama cannot achieve good results. This is a ridiculous debate”, he adds.
Basha said it has not been easy to bring the play at the National Theater, although it was part of the Albania-Kosovo joint artistic agenda.
