The German Ambassador in Prishtina, Ernest Reichel declared that his
country supports the efforts of Kosovo institutions for extending their
authority in the northern parts of the country, but only if they will be
in full coordination with the international missions.
During a meeting with the Kosovo Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuci, Reichel expressed the support of Germany for Kosovo’s EU integration.
When asked by the journalists about the Wikileaks cables, Minister Kuci declared that there are truths, but also fictions in them.
He refused to comment on the EU-Kosovo relations, while he declared his approval for the reforms in the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
Germany repeats the message to Prishtina
The German Ambassador in Prishtina, Ernest Reichel repeated the message of the Chancellor Angela Merkel in Belgrade, that Serbia must recognize Kosovo before entering EU.
“Merkel asked the Serbian government to accept the new reality in Kosovo and abandon the parallel structures in north”, Reichel declared.
The German diplomat made this declaration during a meeting with the Kosovo Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, to whom he asked more cooperation in the dialogue with Serbia.
On his behalf, Minister Hoxhaj guaranteed a serious commitment in the dialogue and updated the German diplomat with the latest events in northern Kosovo.
