Voices about declaring Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro safe countries are
growing in Germany. One of them is Andreas Scheuer, vice leader of the
CDU, who insists to accelerate the procedures to declare these countries
as safe.
Scheuer said that they have denied 99% of the asylum request and that many will return this Autumn.
Another vice leader of the CDU, Thomas Strobl, says people from these countries need a stronger message to not go to Germany.
For the leader of the Green Party, Anton Hofreiter, enlarging the list of safe countries will change nothing, since Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia have already been declared as such 9 months ago.
They say that the payment with cash for welfare while the request is being processed might be luring for asylum seekers.
