“Gerdec” trial coming to an end

This deadline was set by Judge Ridvan Hado, who gave the prosecutors two weeks for preparing their pretence, which will reveal the final position of the Albanian prosecution for the 29 defendants, among whom are many high rank officials from the Armed Forces and the Defense Ministry, together with the leaders of Albademil Company.

The lawyers submitted the written proofs today, the most interesting of which was a document submitted by Andi Meci, the defensive lawyer of the General Secretary of the Defense Ministry.

The lawyer claimed that the among the court files there is a manipulated document, not the original, which has led the prosecution to wrong conclusions.

“The prosecution pretends that Mullahi has initiated the establishment of the Ammunition Sale Commission. According to the original file, Mullahi addressed to the Logistics Directory, while this subject is missing in the manipulated document”, the lawyer declared.

The defensive lawyer of the former director of the Policani Plant, Lavdi Shatro, asked the court to investigate the signature of his client, for confirming the falsification accusations. The lawyer argued that there can be no accusation against Shatro without a forensic report for his signature. But this request was rejected by the judge panel. At this point, the lawyer asked the disqualification of the judge panel, considering it biased. But the court rejected the disqualification request, which in fact should be reviewed by another judge panel. When the Court announced the date for reading the prosecution conclusions, the lawyers abandoned the court one by one, in sign of protest.
