In the last court session of the Gerdec tragedy trial, the defendant was
the former secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Ardian Mullahi,
charged for power abuse.
His defending lawyers, Vladimir Meci and Andi Meci, told the court that the Prosecution has confused the role of the defendant, by treating him as general secretary with a decision-making role, while their client only transferred the documents.
The lawyers declared that his duty is to verify the procedural side, and then transfer the documents to the respective structures.
They underlined that it is absurd to accuse their client of signing a document for initiating the meeting of a commission, when this had happened by the order of the Minister.
The lawyers accused the prosecution of attempting to implicate their client in a dishonest and professionally unacceptable manner.
The former secretary, Ardian Mullahi, has not made any illegal decision, since he is not part of the people who have planned the documents, according to the defending lawyers.
