General Prosecution meets CoE rapporteurs

The Albanian General Prosecutor, Ina Rama, met the rapporteurs of the
Monitoring Commission at the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of
Europe, Mr. Tomas Jirsa and Grigore Petrenco.
The meeting was in the framework of their fact-collecting mission about Albania’s progress. According to the General Prosecution press release, the reporters showed their interest on the matters that are related with the Albanian justice, emphasizing war against corruption, the January 21st issue and the relations between the Prosecution, the Court and the Executive power.
General Prosecution Ina Rama presented the commitment of her institution against the organized crime, corruption and the investigations of the January 21st events.
The rapporteurs showed a special interest for the latter, while the GP guaranteed that during the January 21st investigation, the Prosecution has been and will be determined to continue, regardless the problems met during the preliminary investigations and after.
The rapporteurs underlined the importance of Albania’s integration, consolidation and functionality of the independent institutions.
