The next session of the Gerdeci trial was adjourned due to the absence
of the lawyers, one of the most common reasons that have been dragging
this process for so long.
The court found that there were 17 lawyers absent, and only six of them were in the room. There was a boycott even by the defendants. On the courtroom there was only Dritan Minxolli, Ylli Pinari and two former military.
In these conditions, the court adjourned this trial to Friday. Two days ago, referring to a decision ruled by the Supreme Court for the “Meta” case, which considered the forensic expertise of the American Glen Bart as invalid, since the expert had been called in against the Criminal Procedure Code, lawyer Gezim Veleshnja asked the court to invalidate all forensic tests and asked to repeat them once again.
Among these tests is the expertise of US specialists who specified the causes of the explosion in Gerdec, and also the one for the financial bill for the damages of 15 March 2008.
The lawyer asked an investigation expertise for finding the causes of the tragic explosion that took the life of 28 persons and wounded dozens of others.
Mr. Veleshnja continued with his requests by insisting to appeal the witnesses that the Prosecution refused to hear.
