Fullani: Consumption is revived

The Albanian Bank Governor, Ardian Fullani, declared that the economy
will keep growing even during 2012, but he underlined that the growing
pace will depend on the citizens consumption levels.

“The demand is revived, although under the potential. In the conditions of a smaller contribution than the foreign and fiscal sector, the economic growth will be set by the growth of the inner demand”, Fullani declared.

The Governor signalized that the Bank will keep the interest rates in low levels, in order to encourage the demand, since the inflation risk is low.

“The Bank of Albania projections show a consumption price level of 0.7% during 2012. The materialization of this scenario will reflect on the value of the monetary initiatives”, Fullani declared.

The supervisory council of the central bank decided leave the interest rate unchanged.
