The Greek Supreme Court decided to extradite Arben Frroku, the main
defendant in the murder case of Police Chief Dritan Lamaj. Frroku is
charged of ordering his execution.
The verdict was taken after a long consulting procedure with the most renowned Greek judges and legal experts. The Court argues that Frroku’s extradition helps finding the complete truth about Lamaj’s murder, although the defendant has rejected any implication.
The Greek authorities accept that Arben Frroku’s life is not in danger if he is kept in Albanian prisons, while the Greek judiciary admits that a fair trial against him can be held only in Albania.
Although the verdict was taken this Friday noon, the Court allowed local police authorities to continue with the extradition when they think its appropriate. Top Channel sources say that Frroku’s extradition can be made during the next two or three days. The details of the extradition will not be published before implementing it.
In the meantime, his name is ranked second in the Christian Democratic Party of Albania for the Shkoder district in the June 23rd elections.
