The young Euro Socialist members protested in
front of the Supreme Court, which found the former Deputy Prime
Minister, Ilir Meta, not guilty for active corruption charges, while the
Prosecution had asked two years in prison.
The protest was conceived like a funeral, with the young members keeping on their shoulders a coffin upon which was written “Justice Died”.
After staying for several minutes in front of the Supreme Court, the FRESSH members went to the main boulevard of the capital, in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, where they left the coffin that symbolized the death of justice.
Meta: Justice, not prey to pressures
The Socialist Leader, Ilir Meta, declared on the Youth Movement for Integration convention that he is waiting the final word of justice, which should not fall prey to pressure.
“We will not allow the desecration of our society”, Meta declared.
“I congratulate all of you for the 5-0 victory. This is your victory. Justice has not said its last word. Today I set a new standard for the ugly and criminal video montage that the nephew of the political bureau ordered together with his band. I ask for justice to say its word and not fall prey to the political pressure, for punishing corruption. The videos and the documents are still there”, Meta declared.
