The French Ambassador to Albania, accompanied by a group of French senators from Korca, has commented the voting of the Dutch Parliament for removing Albania’s visa-free regime.
Christine Vasac said that this decision was taken by the sovereign Dutch Parliament, but “there is a longer procedure and we are not sure if it can be completed”, she said.
When asked about the recent developments in Albania, she said that she cannot comment them, being a diplomat: “However, during this high-level meeting, the French senators understood the significant political changes, which I hope will somewhat affect their reflection”, the Ambassador said.
A French senator who accompanied the Ambassador said that the decision for the visa is not favorable for Europe itself: “It is unilateral and we don’t think that it will impact the stance of the EU”.
