Freezing temperatures expected next week

The freezing weather spread throughout Europe will sweep Albania, starting from this Sunday.

Meteorologist Rezarta Xhakollari explains that the temperatures are expected to lower sensitively this Sunday, followed by snow and rainfalls.

But on Tuesday and Wednesday, the temperatures will fall under zero in every part of Albania. Snow in the northern areas will continue intensively and it might cover the entire country.

After Wednesday, rain and snowfalls will mostly stop.

The situation in the main national roads is still difficult due to the heavy snowfalls that continued last night, although less intensive then in the previous days.

The most problematic are the Kukes, Diber and Puka districts. In Kukes and Tropoje, all national roads are open only to cars with tire chains. In Peshkopi and Bulqize there are a series of blocked roads, but the main ones are free.

The situation is more normal in Shkoder, except for the Puka area, where roads are still blocked. The Puka-Fushe Arrez road is open only to cars with tire chains. Roads in Mirdita and Lura are completely blocked. In Tirana, only the cars driving to the Dajti mountain need to use tire chains, while the only road that is still blocked in the Gjirokaster district is the one that connects Permet with Carshova. The roads that connect Korca with Erseke are difficult for drivers, while Elbasan and Vlore have no problematic roads.
